Industrial Members

Intel, the world leader in silicon innovation, develops technologies, products and initiatives to continually advance how people work and live. Intel Corporation (INTC) is the world’s largest semiconductor chip maker based on revenue.

Intel develops advanced integrated digital technology, primarily integrated circuits, for industries such as computing and communications. Integrated circuits are semiconductor chips etched with interconnected electronic switches. Intel also develops computing platforms, defined as integrated hardware and software technologies designed to provide optimized computing solutions. We are transforming from a company with a primary focus on the design and manufacture of semiconductor chips for PCs and servers to a computing company that delivers complete solutions in the form of hardware and software platforms and supporting services for the entire compute continuum. Intel Electronics is the Israel subsidiary of Intel Corporation (INTC). Intel has been operating in Israel since 1974. Intel Israel is mainly engaged in the development and production of microprocessors and of network and communication products.

Intel and 450

A semiconductor industry shift from 300mm to 450mm silicon wafers presents a major challenge for the companies developing semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including metrology equipment. Some of the more important challenges are achieving acceptable wafer processing through-put-times (TPT) on 450mm platforms while maintaining /improving yields and cost of ownership by achieving ever-more-stringent micro-contamination specifications and reducing the environmental footprint of equipment and processes.
